I found Evoto, an IA editing app, by accident earlier this month. To say it is a game changer for me as a newborn and family photographer is an understatement. I did go ahead and find myself an affiliate link so that I might make a few dollars if someone decides to purchase it. Trust me, it’s pocket change that I am making from promoting it. I am promoting this program purely because of how much it has affected my workflow, not for the side money.
Okay so getting to the point, I made this YouTube video, which would be extremely boring to someone unless, of course, they want to see inside Evoto and the features it has. With a preset made, I can have a session order with 15-30 images edited and exported in less than 5 minutes. Then, because I am picky I might pull a few of those into Photoshop ranging from 10 min to 40 min to finish up the order.
An overview of my workflow
My entire workflow for this milestone session that I’m using in the YouTube video went something like this:
1.) Automated booking with Dubsado and client contact (5-10min)
2.) Session and set up for session (45-60min)
3.) Same-day IPS aka in-person ordering using Lightroom (30 min)
4.) Editing the 18 images ordered (Evoto and Photoshop) (20-60min)
5.) Submitting order (10 min)
So my entire time spent on that session from booking to delivering products was 3 hours, at most.
I think that many new photographers who find Photoshop to be too much of a learning curve would benefit from Evoto. I think that the two programs work well together but if you don’t know how to use Photoshop then Evoto is an amazing place to start. I already wrote about the program specifically in this blog post here if you’d like to read a little more about the features.
I’m all about making my work-time faster while maintaining client experience and the quality of my work. I highly recommend this software. It’s free to try, without even putting credit card info in. I used the first (free) 10 images they gave me right after I downloaded it. I ended up liking it so much that I purchased 1200 more credits before 20 minutes had passed lol. The cost is less than a penny per image and the best part is there is no monthly fee or subscription!
You should give it a try and let me know what you think!
